Tough Stains on Beddings and How to Get Rid of Them

Did you ever spill a cup of coffee on your bed and think how difficult it would be to clean it? We understand how tough stains can lead to minor existential crises! From tea stains to red wine spots on your bamboo bedding, long-lasting stains are difficult to clean, and you often have to throw out the whole bedding and replace it with a new one. However, we're here to help!

This blog discusses how to get rid of tough stains on the bedding.

Wipe it Clean ASAP!

Once you've spilled something on your bedsheets, you need to act fast before the stain settles. The best way to tackle stains is to deal with them as soon as they occur. It gets harder to remove the stain once it gets time to set in and dries out completely. However, you need to address different stains differently.

Here's how you can deal with some common stains.

1. Makeup Stains

Removing makeup at night is something we all hate, but getting makeup on the bed sheets is every makeup lover's worst nightmare. Not only are they impossible to remove, but the stain spreads if you try to scrub it.

However, removing makeup stains isn't impossible. You can start by applying dish soap and sprinkling some micellar water. After this, pat the stain gently with a cloth or paper towels and leave it for thirty minutes. Next, put the bedsheet in a washing machine with half a cup of baking soda. However, line dry the bedsheet instead of putting it in the dryer, as too much heat and tumble can harm your bed sheet's texture.

2. Coffee Stains

We all have enjoyed an occasional coffee cup in bed on me-days. However, your me-moment can quickly turn into a nightmare if you spill some coffee on the sheet. But don't let those spots ruin your mood!

Cover the area with dish soap and baking soda, gently pat it and leave it to dry. Wash the sheet in a washing machine with half a cup of baking soda, line dry, and your bedsheets will look as good as new!

3. Red Wine Stains

Spilling red wine on the bed is a huge nightmare. But you can simply apply shaving cream, pat it, wait for thirty minutes, and put it in the washing machine with half a cup of baking soda.

However, if you don't have shaving cream at home, we have another effective method for you.

Place the bed sheet in a cold water bowl and immerse the stain in the cold water. Ensure the entire stained area is completely immersed before adding table salt and pouring boiling water on top of it. Soak it for almost thirty minutes before putting it into a washing machine with one-third cup of baking soda. Dry it, and you have your stainless sheets back!
